The record falls: Stewie, a 5-year-old Maine coon from Reno, Nev., has broken the Guinness World Record for the world’s longest domestic cat. The feline measures 48.5 inches from stem to stern. More images here.

Why am not surprised this cat’s name is Stewie?
Imagine the possibilities for a Family Guy caption contest:
“Yes, yes, THIS is the thing that will ruin your reputation, not your years of grotesque appearance, or your awkward social graces, or that Felix Ungerish way you clear your sinuses, no no no, it’s THIS.”
“There’s always been a lot of tension between Lois and me, and it’s not so much that I want to kill her, it’s just, I want her not to be alive anymore.”
